Meet Dr. Thresher

Dr. Alfred A. Thresher

I am originally from Virginia where I grew up in Alexandria. I attended Brigham Young University in Utah, where I completed the prerequisites for dental school. After graduating from Brigham Young University, I returned to Virginia with my new bride and completed dental school at the Medical College of Virginia (MCV).

Upon graduating in the top 5% of my dental class, we elected to stay in Virginia so I could complete the orthodontic residency program at Medical College of Virginia. This program is known for its clinical excellence and great academic reputation.

I am currently a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, Nevada Dental Association and the Southern Nevada Dental Society. Each year I complete numerous continuing education courses in order to deliver the most esthetically pleasing smile and ideal functioning bite to each and every patient in our practice.

I am also a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (National Dental Honor Society) and Phi Kappa Phi. In addition, I’m a Board Eligible member of the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO), and have received the Pierre Fauchard Award.

When I was growing up, I always wanted to be an orthodontist. In addition to having braces myself, I truly enjoy the opportunities and challenges orthodontics has to offer. I find orthodontics extremely rewarding;
enhancing one’s quality of life one smile at a time. I am grateful for the privilege to serve you and
your family through this wonderful profession of orthodontics and wish you and yours a delightful
experience in our practice.
